How can we help?

Install Noire Mastering Suite, find it in your host and get to a first master. If something still doesn’t work, write to us.

Installation

Install and remove
without leftovers.

The installer works without administrator rights and never overwrites a file it didn’t install.

  • Noire Mastering Suite 1.1.0
  • Windows, 64-bit
  • VST3 · Standalone
  1. Unzip the package

Download the 64-bit Windows package and extract it to any folder.

  2. Run the installer

It installs the VST3 for your user account, the standalone application, and Start menu and desktop shortcuts.

  3. Optional: system-wide

If your host only scans C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3, choose the system-wide option. Windows will ask for administrator approval.

Where everything goes.

  • VST3, user%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Common\VST3\Noire Mastering Suite.vst3
  • VST3, systemC:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\Noire Mastering Suite.vst3
  • Standalone app%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Noire Mastering Suite\Noire Mastering Suite.exe
  • Your presetsDocuments\NOIRE AUDIO\Mastering Suite\Presets

How the installer protects your files.

  • Verified copiesEvery installed file is checked against its SHA-256 fingerprint.
  • Nothing overwrittenA file that wasn’t installed by Noire Mastering Suite is renamed as a dated backup, never replaced.
  • Clean removalThe uninstaller removes only the files it installed and that haven’t changed since.
  • Presets keptUninstalling leaves your presets and backups in place.

Find the plugin

Your host doesn’t see it?

The user VST3 folder is the one defined by the VST3 specification, but some hosts only look for VST3 plugins in the system folder.

Reinstall with the system-wide option, then rescan. If your host lets you add VST3 folders, you can add the user folder instead.

FL Studio

  1. Reinstall with the system-wide option. FL Studio looks for VST3 plugins in C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3
  2. Open Options › Manage plugins.
  3. Click Find plugins.

Other hosts

  1. Open your host’s plugin folder settings, often called VST3 paths.
  2. Add this folder, then rescan your plugins: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Common\VST3

Your first master

Five steps to a first master.

The recommended workflow, from choosing a target to the final check.

  1. Choose the target

Streaming −14 (default), Pop −11, Loud −9 or Dynamic −16 LUFS, next to the Auto Master button.

  2. Run Auto Master

Play the loudest, most representative passage, then press Auto Master. It listens for ten seconds and explains every decision.

  3. Refine by ear

Every module stays editable, and you can reorder them. Compare with Bypass, Match and A/B.

  4. Check the translation

Monitor profiles (car, smartphone, laptop…) draw their simulated response on the analyser.

  5. Check the output

Integrated loudness should be close to the target, and true peak under −1 dBTP. The meter turns red above it.

Working by hand? Auto in the Input module brings the mix to −18 LUFS, the working level the compressors are calibrated for.

Questions

Common questions.

The standalone app makes no sound

Open Options › Audio/MIDI Settings and choose your audio interface. The input is muted by default to prevent feedback.

My host doesn’t list the plugin

Reinstall with the system-wide option and rescan: some hosts, including FL Studio, only find VST3 plugins in the system folder. See Find the plugin.

The latency changes when I switch some settings

Spectral resolution and oversampling change the latency. The plugin fades out briefly while it reconfigures, then reports the new latency to your host.

True peak reads in red

The output peaks above the −1 dBTP ceiling. Turn on True Peak in the limiter, or lower the gain that drives it.

Auto Master didn’t reach the Loud target

Clean criteria come first: on very dynamic material, Auto Master stops before the limiter starts to damage the mix. You can push further by hand.

How do I change the order of the processors?

Drag a module by its header, or right-click the header to move it left, right, to the start or to the end. The order is saved with your project, in each A/B slot and in presets.

Can I use it on a mono track?

Yes. Mono and stereo tracks are both supported.

Can I work from the keyboard?

Yes. Tab moves between controls and the arrow keys adjust them (hold Shift for fine steps). Page Up and Page Down make larger steps, Home and End jump to the limits, Delete resets to the default and Esc closes panels.

Where are my presets?

In Documents\NOIRE AUDIO\Mastering Suite\Presets, as .nmsp files. Presets saved with version 1.0, in .noirepreset, still load.
